The Library's responsibility extends to recording the use of copyright
materials. Lecturer's own lecture and tutorial notes, tutorial solutions
and course handouts which do not contain copyright material are
beyond the scope of the MyCourse database. The Library is therefore
not in a position to be able to provide a digitisation service for
these materials.
Please be aware of the following procedures:
- Incidental use of copyright-protected artistic works e.g.
- diagrams
- graphs
- illustrations within lecture no
is allowed on local servers as long as they are appropriately
cited with full bibliographic details.
- A copyright notice should appear on the first
page of any material containing incidental copyright-protected material.
- If lecture notes contain more substantial amounts of textual copyright
material e.g.
- long quotations or
- large sections of text,
then the
notes should be forwarded to MyCourse Services for copyright checking
and processing. Hardcopy lecture notes will be received for
an interim period.
MyCourse Services will continue to receive printed/photocopied versions
of lecture notes, etc for the hard copy MyCourse(Reserve). Collection
and will make these available to students in manilla folders.
Lecturers are required to indicate on this submission form that
the material complies with copyright regulations.
